Ironically—and many of you have heard me say this before—I had promised myself I’d never return to it: owning and operating an indie game studio. After a few weeks invested in evaluating my next steps, I realized that everything that frustrated me about the game industry—bloated budgets, market saturation, poor management, blockbuster obsession, and the relentless marketing required to capture an overstimulated audience—is actually a body of knowledge I can harness and leverage.

So, instead of avoiding it, I decided to embrace it and use these insights to fuel a new mission: a sharp, highly efficient solo studio driven by clear positioning, where my technical strengths align directly with a specific niche. No bloat, no unnecessary spending, no waiting on painfully slow corporate decisions. Just a tailored strategy built to connect with players and turn a first game into a sustainable, successful release.

With a clear mind, I now move forward into this new professional chapter. It will be challenging, no doubt, but I am very excited to share this new adventure with all of you.

Jonathan.
